PGz online identity paper

PGz online identity paper

Postby Duhstee » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:26 am

Here is the paper I wrote for my Communications class. I wrote it 20 minutes before class, so it didn\'t quite turnout how I wanted it to be.

Online Identity

There are a number of traits that perceive who we are and one of those traits is our identity. When getting to know an individual, we like to try and identify who they are or where their identity fits into our own. While this can be an easy thing to do in person, it is completely different trying to do it online. When identifying someone in person, we look for changes in the tone of their voice, facial expressions and other mannerisms. When identifying someone online, we can’t really go by the tone of their voice or facial expressions, we can only go by how they are interacting with everyone else. In this paper I will discuss several identities that I have noticed on the popular gaming website Prestige Gamerz. For security purposes, I will be using the screen names of the individuals instead of their real names

The first identity I will discuss of is that of an individual that goes by the name of Axikal. Axikal seems like your typical forum poster at first, but if you spend enough time on the forum and in the chat, you will quickly learn otherwise. Axikals identity is that of the allusive “Grammar Naziâ€

I\'m not sure whether to be flattered, or offended 8)

I only target stupid people. For the record. And your punctuation needs work FTW!

Although, Axikal may seem like an asshole and loves to rant but, he is a caring individual who sees that the world is a cruel place and the only way to survive is to encourage people to laugh, and educate themselves.

Fixed 8)

Yep, seems about accurate.

i r b asshole, but I don\'t abuse my powers for evil only for the good of the site. Banning book is the best thing a moderator can do. (Since I can\'t ban badger or figs  )
