GTA Online 2: Red Dead Online

So in a serious case of "Deja Fucking Vu" Rockstar will be considering Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer as an independent title: Red Dead Online, in an exact reflection of GTA V and GTA Online, including two separate launch dates. Once again, the Online mode will not be available until almost a full month after the initial release.

Hopefully, Red Dead Online isn't a broken toaster and launch like GTA Online was.

When GTA did this years ago, I liked the idea and thought it was an incredibly smart move. Give people time to enjoy the campaign, without the need to race to rank up in MP and exploit low level players.

But you run the risk of what happened with GTA, where nonstop glitches and bugs screwed over the launch. And it because they delayed it for a month, it looks even worse that there was time to prepare for the massive influx of players (seeing 20 million in sales in the first month), and not having the server power to accommodate that gang bang of players.

I am going to guess RDR2 will be better prepared..............especially after seeing the issues GTAO had............. but it wouldn't be surprising if they follow the same trap. Incredible sales, highly anticipated MP after an awesome campaign, but totally unprepared for the millions of people trying to get in on day 1

I have slight concerns that will be the case. It's hard to think they will do the same catastrophic fail again, but so far they are taking all the necessary steps to repeat history.

Looking forward to trying it but not so much the whole being buried in microtransactions thing that GTA Online has going for it.
