COD Black Ops IIII

Postby Mi2Lethal » Fri Mar 09, 2018 5:06 pm

It's that time of the year again where people get excited about the new CoD and then call it the worst one in the franchise within a month or two  . In all honesty though this one has my attention as BO2 was the last CoD that I really enjoyed and sunk a lot of time in. BO3 was a pass for me because of the jetpack jumping nonsense and the whole futuristic setting and this will be too if it's headed in the same direction.

Reveal trailer will be in May 17, surprising that it releases in October for the first time since CoD 2! Probably because of Battlefield 2018 and Red Dead 2. They know what a Rockstar game can do when GTAV completely dominated them in 2013. Also the title is really dumb, looking forward to Black Ops 6 with 6 fucking 'I's in the title.

I know a lot of people here don't really give a shit about this franchise anymore but still what do you think of it?

As with all prior CODs I will reserve my judgement until the Reveal Trailer at E3. And messing up the roman numerals is not a good start...

Put it this way, if it is another space game like Infinite Bullshit turned out to be, it had better be as good as, if not better, than the Mass Effect Trilogy in terms of story. That is the bar I am setting for it. If it isn't, then I may be interested in it.

I was kind of surprised by this. I'm not sure why, but I was just under the impression that BO3 was going to be the last of the Black Ops series. I have no idea what they would have done, I just didn't think it would be this.

Maybe I was just under the impression Activision couldn't count that high, since the only other time they've had a "4" was also Modern Warfare 1.

Anyways I'm in the same boat with everyone. I'm in if it's real Call of Duty. I've been playing a lot of WW2, even though it has game bugs coming out the ass, but in this day and age where the franchise is a shell of what it once was, it's impossible to predict when we will get a product that has some of the old glory days shining through.

I'm not sure I've played a CoD this much since BOII. I put in quite a bit of time into CoD4 Remastered, but I'm not sure what my play time is between the 3 games.

Seeing this is like seeing the map Fuel from MW3. SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP

Treyarch + future means I won't even look at the game.

WW2 had a recent update called "Shamrock and Awe", which include the playlist "Shipment 24/7". Dead serious. SHG remade CoD4's Shipment for their game, which pretty much means grenade spam, lots of deaths, and massive amounts of killstreaks going off.

I saw that..... and I would play the shit out of that mode, except I don't want to buy the game

I could seriously play Shipment for hours, and used to play HQ JUST to get shipment. And I would be proud of my 100 kill games, camping in a corner with the RPD, calling in choppers after I died to get another chopper! That shit was the best fun I had in COD4.

It's not the same Shipment experience you know. In COD4, the shotguns are balanced and reasonable. In WW2, they are over powered into the ultimate noob gun. This does not mix well with Shipment...

So it's rumoured that the game will not include a campaign but instead a battle royale mode because that's the hot thing right and Activision can't be left out. Removing the campaign is a huge and i expect all that extra effort to be put into other areas of the game i.e twice the amount of guns and maps in multiplayer, unlike cod WW2 where it shipped with just 9 maps, like c'mon. Some dedicated servers would be nice too but i know that's asking too much from Activision. Anyway we'll have to wait until next month to see if any of this is true.

Confirmed as true by Jason Schreier earlier. Interesting move. Bit of a shame I think and I hope it doesn't start a trend.

All the rumors have been confirmed..... BO4 will not have a campaign, replaced by a Battle Royale mode. Key things to note:

- Blackout is their Battle Royale mode, and will be the focus instead of campaign.
- Specialists return. Instead of campaign, each will get a special mission for their backstory. So that's about as much campaign as people will get
- 3 Zombie modes, which have gotten even more ridiculous now........................ including a trip to the Titanic.
- 1 of the zombie maps featured melee weapons in a gladiator style arena.
- Traditional multiplayer will still exist as well.

And if this shit is successful, you know this will be the path of COD games (after Infinity Ward's next colossal fuck up)
